Marching and playing outside this morning. BHMY is busy rehearsing for Kingston Borough Band Tattoo on 12th May. Everyone is working really hard, but especially our brand new cornet players, new clarinettists and new drummers – most of them haven’t done a display before! There’s at least 10 children and 1 adult in our band the haven’t done a marching display before!

Determination and perseverance are skills we are familiar with. It doesn’t always go to plan the first few times, but when it does, it’s worth every ounce of effort.[fb_vid id=”1815002675217026″]I’m watching this video everyday for the rest of my life

ALTO SAXOPHONISTS needed to join rapidly growing marching band.
Our performing band is now up to over 50 members and our saxophone section needs new players to join our already fabulous players. We are training very young players but need more young people that can already play.
Contact bandmaster@bhmy.org or message us on Facebook for more information.

Our friends in the Kings Norton/Northfield area of Birmingham are recruiting new members. They’re a small but fantastic group which has lots to offer kids and young adults.
Once a bandie always a bandie…!! Love it Ellie x

It’s been a long time since the Bandmaster has been to visit another band alone! Teaching High on a Hill and getting to play through some old bugle tunes! It seems the likes of Mechanised Infantry is well and truly committed to muscle memory!!!
