BHMY is at its largest, ever!!
We are taking a band of 48 to the Kingston Borough Band Tattoo on the 12th May. We have 4 playing Main Band members missing that day due to exams etc and our Bandmaster Paul is not playing either.
It will be a first time arena performance for at least 13 members aged between 8 and 12, with some members that have also moved on to new instruments.
Our routine has been put together in just 4 weeks since our concert at the beginning of March.
Proud isn’t a strong enough word!

Band being put through their paces this evening. Our youngest members are doing so well. It’s a lot to learn: stay in step, stay in line across the band, whilst not looking round, stay in step, stay behind the person in front of you, stay in step, remember to counter march, stay in step, get back in step…and as if that’s not enough – now play an instrument you’ve been learning for less than a year…..! 😱😱
Amazing progress.

Tonight BHMY will be rehearsing once more, putting our Cadets through their paces and training them up for the Main Band.
All sections will be working hard on both music and drill so that we are the best we can be.
Why not come along and find out more. There’s nothing to lose.
